"Tango Addiction" by Linda Walsh Casas (fragment)

"Argentine Tango is more than a dance or a musical style. Many Tangueros say it is a way of life. It has been called a "secret danced between two people", a "feeling that is danced", and a "walking embrace". It is said that Tango is not in the feet; it is in the heart. It is more about the connection with your partner and the expression of feelings than about choreography.

Although Tango continues to evolve, its essence has not changed after more than a century. The beauty of Tango lies in being totally "present", being completely aware of, and focused on, your partner and the music. Tango is an imporvised dance, and no piece of music is ever danced the same way twice. Each dance is unique. Because neither partner knows exactly what will come next, Tango requires heightened sensitivity to your partner, while still expressing yourself. It can bring out the best in both of you.

Tango dancers will tell you that, once experienced, the magic of Tango is addictive."

Thanks Linda for sharing this!!!

TANGO in Argentina

This pic was taken at the school Carlos Copello. It was one of the girl's b-day (Ayelen, the one with the flowers), she is only 14 years old and dances beautifully. In the pic there are teachers and students from Tango 1, 2 and 3 and the Tango ballet of the school. My teachers are: Maricel Giacomini, the girl behind the flowers, not with the flowers, and Maxi Cristiani the guy near the red column that has the same design on the black t-shirt than one of the girls kneeling. And my Tango partner is Jose, the guy on the far right.

I miss you all!!!

Mom's Head Sculpture

And the last one I did was for my mom... and as I didn't have time for a whole head I did it like a mask...

Dad's Head Sculpture -rotation

As the title says... the rotation (half only)

Dad's Head Sculpture -step by step

After step one... which is nothing...

Step two... is taking more shape...

Kissing the final head... by the real head

Painting it when its dry enough...

After taking the paint off... (the one that I didn't want to keep on, of course)... after this, the oven... (the final one should look pretty much like this)

Brother's Head Sculpture

This is the sculpture that I made of my brother... in clay.

Done...
Painted... before the oven... (the colors of the pic are totally off, but I like it like this... to see the real color go to Dad's Head Sculpture)

Summer Christmas at home

Christmas night OUTSIDE and my dad's birthday... (it was a little bit chilly, but really nice)

With my cousins (from left to right) Sebas, Pitu, Ju (brother), me and Martin...

Dancing Tango with my step brother Javi...

At home in ARGENTINA: Poker afternoon

My first poker day (in the afternoon I played with my family, and at night I went with my brother's friends and I lost badly... cause he taught me how to loose... not how to play and win... bah)
nooo... si yo estaba destinada a ganar con esa mano! pero quien carajo repartio?!?!? (basically complaining "who shuffled that horrible hand"?)
